If you have a Froyo powered device: IDEOS users, simply go to the wireless settings, enable it, and connect your phone to your laptop or computer via a USB or a Wi-FI connection to use your phone as a modem / hotspot. The steps are simply  Settings > wireless & networks > tethering&portable hotspot > tick the box > portable hotspot setting > configure.
